Loreto is about 725 miles from the US border by car via Mexican Highway 1 or a 95 minute non-stop flight from LAX on Alaska Air. Loreto is on the east side of the Baja Penninsula between the Sea of Cortez and the Sierra La Giganta mountain range Loreto and is a friendly seaside town. One block from the Marina and swimming beaches with Palapas, and two blocks from the Mission, El Tiburon Casitas is centrally located on Calle Davis number 65 N and an easy walk to restaurants, shopping, marina, and the beach. Our casitas have all the modern conveniences but still has the small town charm.

|Loreto is located on the Eastern side of the Baja California peninsula on the Sea of Cortez, named “the aquarium of the world” by the late Jacques Costeau. The dramatic Sierra de la Giganta mountain range west of Loreto consists of irregularly shaped volcanic peaks as high as 1,520 meters which plunge dramaticaly into the Sea of Cortez. The native Californiano people said that Loreto is “where the mountains come to swim” and painted many reprentations of marine and terrestrial life in caves and on rock faces.|
Budget, Alamo, Hertz . EuropCar, and Fox have offices in Loreto and cars can be rented at the airport or in town after arrival. Insurance is wild card when comparing rates. Check with your Credit card company for Mexico coverage before leaving the US.
Taxi SHUTTLES or cars are readily available to and from the airport which is 6 miles south of town. Cost is approx 8 dollars a person. Minimum 4 pp to get this price. Private car to town is approx 25 dollars. ALWAYS ask before getting in the Van. Some Vans are part of the timeshare hotel. Unless you want to get out of Loreto, rental cars may not be necessary if you like to walk. Complimentary Bicycles also available on site.
