Loreto has an International Airport with direct flights from Los Angeles or SFO (Alaska Airlines), Phoenix or Dallas (American Airlines), and Calgary, Canada on Fridays and Mondays usualy (WestJet only from Nov to end of April), and Domestic service on Volaris air-- Mexican flights from Tijuana ( San Diego CBX), and sometimes from Guadalajara, or La Paz (Volaris). It is usually best to book direct with each airline. Sometimes it is best to book different carriers on different leg or directions. Fligths are once daily, only 2-6 days a week for each airline.

There are always taxis and Vans waiting at the airport curb to bring you into town. There is a rate board by the exit doors. Check the rates and VERIFY the rate for your party before getting in the car or Van. You may also rent cars at the airport. Our Address is 69 Calle Davis Norte at the corner of Agua Dulce street. Closest main street is Benito Juarez. All the drivers should know us. To return to the airport for your departure, we will call a shuttle for you. Cost is $350 pesos for 1-4 people, which is cheaper than the ride to get here! ( Different Taxi union provides this service on the return trip only). Commercial transportation services for larger groups can also be found online. It is only a 10 min ride to the casitas.

Bring your Passport with a 6 month minimum time before expiration!!!, Also bring your favorite coffee and snacks, as the selection here may be poor and prices are high for American type snacks and crackers. Do NOT bring meats, fruits or vegetables, or foods not in their original packaging. Fishing gear must be checked. There is a limit on how much gear you can bring before paying tax. Bring a medium cooler with a hinged lid if you are taking fish home with you. Fish cannot be stored in your Casita freezer but all our Captains will quick freeze your catch and deliver it to you 1 hr before your departure.

The answer to that question depends on what you want to do while you are here. November to May is the best time to do land based outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, road trips to San Javier, Mulege tour, Yellowtail Fishing, and mule rides in the desert. Diving and snorkelling is good but you may want a light wetsuit. May-October is the best time for swimming, snorkeling, and diving, and Dorado sportfishing. Fishing is good all year, many species of fish are caught depending on where your Captain takes you.

Those who have strolled the cobblestone streets and sat in restaurants while listening to locals greet each other know that this charming town is one of the safest in Mexico. It’s an ideal destination for travelers looking for all the beauty and excitement of a Mexico vacation but without crowds of tourists. There is no active cartel presence in Loreto normally. No tourists have ever been targeted here. Our gated property is closed to foot traffic and all outside visitors making it even more private! We have never had a guest harrassed in any way!

We have Fiber optic internet which works very good 99% of the time. It always works the best in the central Palapa area near the main antenna where we have lights and a large table. Service inside your Casita may be a bit slower but acceptable, To stream or download use the central area outside. We have a complimentary landline phone in our guest library to call USA, Canada, or Mexican numbers. Toll free 800 numbers are not free in Mexico. Bring non toll free numbers for your bank and credit cards. Your cell phone service should work if you sign up for international service before arriving. Whats App and Wi Fi based calling works well as we have excellent internet.

Yes, our compound is secure and gated, we have space for your personal car or a rental car behind the main house. We do not have space for boats or trailers or RVs but there is a commercial storage yard very close.

Yes, we have 8 beach cruisers or city bikes to use in town on paved roads only anytime. They are for town use only, not dirt roads or on the beach. If you want a helmet or bike lock, bring one with you. Most people just keep the bikes within sight as restaurants have outdoor seating and it is easy to watch the bikes. Our bikes are not for use in the Mission square and malecon boardwalk, those areas are for pedestrians. Mountain bikes or E- bikes for offroad use can be rented in town.

Smoking is not allowed indooors in any casita or under the Palapa, but we can set up a smoking area on your personal outdoor patio away from the central area or just walk to the street.

No, the Casita Freezers are for guest Ice and food and will never be useful again for our guests once fish has been frozen or stored and left fishy odors. All our Captains will fillet and bag your fish and deliver it frozen or smoked an hour before your departure. Fresh fish fillets to eat that night can be double bagged and put in a bowl in the fridge section but usually the Captain delivers the fish directly to the restaurant of your choice.

US dollars are accepted most everywhere. Pesos get the very best exchange rate. There are 5 ATM locations that will give you pesos on your Debit card. Be sure to call your bank before arriving. Try to bring some US money in small denominations and the bills cannot have any damage or writing on them. Credit /Debit Cards are accepted at the larger grocery stores, liquor stores, and many restaurants. Most fishing Captains, Island boats, taxis, and our Van driver take cash only. Commercial tour companies may take CC. This is Mexico and the official currency here is only the Peso, so for small purchases , tips, ice cream, etc- use pesos. You can order pesos in advance from your Bank at home. There is a fee to get Pesos from the Mexican ATM machines for most Bank Cards- check with your bank if not sure. ATM locations-- Airport, BBVA bank in the square, Azteca Bank, Ley store, Santa Fe Hotel store. Fees vary widely from machine to machine.

There is a BBVA ATM and bank in the main plaza just two blocks from the Casitas, and Azteca bank 5 blocks away on Juarez st, a Banamex ATM located at Ley Grocery store and a BBVA ATM in the Hotel Santa Fe market. There is a cash exchange store across the street from Pescador Market that will give you pesos for USD or Canadian dollars. There is a fee to use any Mexican ATM machine, the fees vary at each one depending on the banking company and your card.

It is not necessary, (our property is within easy walking distance of the marina, town square, Loreto Mission, restaurants, shopping, and the beach), but if you would like to do some exploring on your own outside of Loreto (to Mission San Javier, Mulege, Bahia de Conception, a remote beach, etc..) then you may rent a car from one of several rental agencies in town or at the airport. In peak season rent online before arriving. Our private Van driver will also take you anywhere you want to go, just ask us to call him.

Daily maid service is included and mandatory. We have the cleanest Casitas in Loreto! Bugs are at a minimum here due to our daily cleaning. Laundry service is also available on site for a small fee, your clothes will be washed and folded, returned same day.

Reservations are final once paid for, therefore we recommend trip insurance if you think you may not travel or need to cancel and would like your 50% deposit returned or if in the last 60 days your entire payment. Reservations are transferable and we will do our best to resell your casita if you do have to cancel. We only have 4 casitas and do not have the flexibility to accept cancellations at all if we are sold out, it is Peak season, or it is a Holiday week. Please consider trip insurance if you are not sure about your travel.
